An Indonesian kebaya is a traditional, modest, open-front blouse and dress combination for women, made from lightweight fabrics like brocade, cotton, or lace, and adorned with embroidery. Paired with a sarong, kain, or kemben, it symbolizes Indonesian cultural heritage and is worn for a wide range of events, from formal ceremonies to daily wear. For wedding or formal event, it can be paired with songket. The kebaya holds significant cultural importance, is recognized as a national attire, and is a key element of a joint UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage nomination for Southeast Asia
